More than 10,000 Buddhists, dignitaries, scholars and guests from 95
countries and territories attended the opening of celebrations for the
eleventh United Nations Day of Vesak at Bai Dinh Pagoda in Ninh Binh
Province.
It is the peak season for religious tourism as the country''s many pilgrim festivals start at the end of Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival and last until the end of the third lunar month.
The first international conference on spiritual tourism will take place
in Ninh Binh Province''s Bai Dinh Pagoda on November 21- 22, said an
official from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at a press
conference yesterday.
Viet Nam has become the proud owner of 10 more Asian
records, and will receive certificates for them from the Asia Book of
Records in HCM City tomorrow.
Nationwide, tens of thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhist followers and tourists have flocked to pagodas and Spring festivals at the beginning of the new year, wishing for peace, good weather, happiness and prosperity for all people.
